Responsibilities: Load and unload goods from the delivery vehicle safely and efficiently. Operate a company delivery vehicle in a safe and professional manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
Plan and follow the most efficient delivery routes, utilizing GPS or navigation tools as needed. Deliver products to customers’ premises accurately and on time. Obtain signatures or proof of delivery from customers. Inspect the vehicle for mechanical issues and report any concerns or required maintenance to the supervisor.
Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle. Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any customer inquiries or concerns professionally. Accurately complete all required delivery logs and documentation. Adhere to company safety protocols and procedures at all times. Report any accidents or incidents immediately to the supervisor.
Assist with basic warehouse duties as needed, such as organizing stock or preparing orders for dispatch.
Qualifications: Valid South African driver’s license (Code 10 or higher preferred). A clean driving record with no major endorsements or suspensions. Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role is advantageous.
Good knowledge of local roads and navigation within the operating area. Physical ability to lift and carry packages of varying weights. Excellent time management and organizational skills. Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively. Reliability and punctuality are essential. Must be able to pass a background check and provide references. A professional appearance and positive attitude.
