TSU Protection Services is recruiting for a Shift Supervisor for Clifton CID.
Working in the public spaces of Clifton – including beaches, car parks, roads and green open spaces – the public safety team is responsible for providing a visible crime deterrent on a 24x7x365 basis, whilst also offering assistance in the public space to residents, property owners and visitors. Officers are supported by a surveillance centre, providing CCTV monitoring.
Reporting to the Contract Manager, the shift supervisor is responsible for overall supervision of the shift.
Key responsibilities include:- Posting of public safety officers to designated posts to always ensure visibility and coverage as needs change;
- Completing hourly situational reports and posting these onto public safety communication channels;
- Completing foot patrols in defined areas;
- Motivating and correcting public safety officers where necessary;
- Responding to incidents in which a public safety officer requires back up;
- Liaising with the surveillance centre regarding CCTV alerts and suspicious behaviour, and ensuring resources are deployed to attend to them, providing updates and reports in each instance;
- Conducting spot checks on public safety officers to ensure standards are maintained;
- Working with the contract manager to manage issues.
To be considered for the role, you will need:
- Grade B PSIRA certification – registered and up to date
- Proven supervisory experience in the security or a related sector;
- 3-5 years relevant work experience;
- Good administrative skills and experience in writing reports and completing registers;
- Contactable references;
- A valid driver’s license is advantageous but not a requirement.
Candidates need to reside in or around the following areas to be eligible for staff transport: Eersteriver, Blue Downs, Mfuleni, Delft, Wesbank.
Reliable transport to Clifton if living outside of the abovementioned areas.
Suitable candidates must pass all recruitment checks including tests, interviews, background checks and driver’s evaluation.
